dc.description.abstract | Indonesia is an agricultural country where most of the population works as farmers.
Nowadays most of the agricultural land is switched function for industrial development. As
a result, various planting methods emerged, one of which was the hydroponic method.
Hydroponics is a method without using soil media as a nutrient binder. This study aims to:
first, determine the effect of the variety of planting media which was compost and manure
(goat) with the hydroponic method on the growth of pakcoy plants (Brassica rapa L.)
Second, to find out which type of planting medium gave the best effect with using the
hydroponic method on the growth of pakcoy plants (Brassica rapa L.) Using the
Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with five treatments, namely P0 : water
medium (control), P1: compost media + goat manure + 150 ml water = 1: 1, P2: compost
media + goat manure + 150 ml water = 3: 1, P3 : compost media + goat manure + 150 ml
water = 1:3, P4 : compost media + goat manure + 150 ml water = 1:4. Data analysis
using ANOVA if there is a real difference will be followed by the LSD test at the 5%
level. Based on the results of the first study, the growing media for compost and manure
(goat) gave significant results on the growth of plant height, the number of leaves, wet
weight, and length of plant roots. Meanwhile, the leaf width and dry weight of the plant
were not ignificantly different. Second, the P2 treatment or the provision of compost +
manure (goat) with a ratio of 3: 1 gave the best effect on the growth of pakcoy (Brassica
Rapa L.) plants.
