dc.description.abstract Socrative is a web application used to help the teacher make a quiz for the students, with several types of quiz, such as; multiple choice, true and false, short answer. The results of the quiz can be downloaded in excel file. In learning reading comprehension, we need a multimedia to support our learning process and it makes our learning process more be effective and interested. This study aimed to know there is any significant difference between the students who taught using Socrative and those who are not taught using Socrative in Junior High School Al Hidayah. For research design, the researcher applied quasi experiment research as the research design in this study. There were control group and experimental group in a quasi-experiment. To analyze the data, the researcher used SPSS V.20. The finding of this study shows that there is difference in students’ reading comprehension between the experimental group and control group. The mean score from both groups in reading comprehension, the experimental group, M=77,05, and the control group, M=69,23. The mean difference between both two groups is 7,82. The researcher draw conclusions that the experimental group records higher than the control group. Based on the finding of the study, the English teachers can take advantages from using Socrative in learning reading comprehension. Also, the English teachers should use a variety of strategies and methods so that students are not bored during the teaching and learning process. One of the other important aspects of the teaching and learning process, other from technique and method, a teacher of English should think about teaching approach that can be applied in the teaching and learning process. It is expected that this research can be beneficial for future researcher as a reference to conduct in depth study, especially for the same topic as the present study.
