dc.description.abstractReading is one of the skills that has to be mastered by English students as foreign language or second language. Through reading students can get a lot of information, improve knowledge, or problem solution. But there are problem faced by students while reading, that is anxiety. The purpose of the study is to know the relationships between reading anxiety and reading comprehension of third semester student in University of Islam Malang. The participants of this research were 60 students of thrid semester students of English departement. This study used correlational design to analyze the relationship between students’ reading anxiety and reading comprehension. The technique of collecting data were conducting the reading comprehension test and delivering anxiety questionnaire. The data anlysis of this research is correlational analysis using SPSS/ANOVA table. Based on the result of this research, most of the students’ reading anxiety level is on high level of anxiety. But most of them also get high scoress in reading comprehension test. Specifically, reading anxiety level is devided into three levels; low anxiety, moderate anxiety, and high anxiety. In other words, reading anxiety level not affect to student reading comprehension scores. From the correlational analysis of this research show that number of significant (N.Sig) was 0.952 more than 0.05 (>0.05), which means there is no significant correlation between students’ reading anxiety and reading comprehension of third semester students of University of Islam Malang. The finding of the research is ilustrated no significant correlation between two variables. It mean, the high level of student anxiety not guarantee to get lower scores on reading comprehension test. The research findings presented based on the data found from test and questionnaire scores of students. The researcher conducted the data from february to March 2023.
