dc.description.abstract | The development of science and technology has entered the educational sector. One of the effects is Interactive learning media. This study aimed to develop an electronic book for web-based learning for seven grade students at SMP Islam Karangploso. To obtain front-end data analysis, the researcher interviewed a teacher to fill out a need analysis. Before the development, media and language experts carried out the validity and feasibility tests to validate the E-book. And then, the researcher carried out a try-out which 25 students attended.
The researcher utilized the 4-D model to develop the E-book, consisting of Defining, Designing, Developing, and Disseminating. In the Define phase, the researcher interviewed the teacher and gave a questionnaire to students’ responses. In the Design phase, the researcher designed the E-book using Book Creator. Through expert judgment, the researcher validated the research instruments and the E-book in the Develop phase. In this stage, the researcher also did Try-out to get students’ responses about the E-book. Finally is the Disseminate phase: the researcher created the Book Creator account for the teacher and students to access the E-book freely.
The results of the validation by media experts show that the media developed the E-book was very valid, with a score of 85.9%. The validation results by material experts showed that the E-book was very valid, with a score of 81.8%. The results of validation by language experts showed that the E-book is valid, with a score of 72.2%. Moreover, the results of students’ responses show that the E-book developed is very interesting, with a score of 78.95%.
For future researcher, Enhancing the accessibility features and user interface of this e-book can lead to a more engaging and effective learning resource. Research endeavours aimed at refining the e-book's accessibility and usability can not only improve its quality but also contribute to broader adoption of digital learning materials across different educational settings.
