Perancangan Design Chassis Kendaraan Mobil Hemat Energi "Haizum"
Abstract
KMHE (Energy Saving Car Contest) is a car that is designed in the needs of both
national and international scale competitions, in the energy-efficient car
competition is divided into two categories namely prototype cars and urban
concept cars, in each of these categories has several criteria as an assessment,
wrong one of them is chassis design. The evaluation criteria are intended so that
the participants and students are encouraged to compete with one another in the
development of the vehicle. This is what caused the author's interest to conduct
research on "Planning the Haizum Energy Saving Car Vehicle Chassis Design". In
planning the chassis or frame of a vehicle there are steps that must be taken so that
the chassis or frame has perfect construction. The initial step of designing a
chassis or vehicle frame is to search for literature studies and study the building
systems in frame construction so that later the writer will have a mindset and plan
regarding the construction or building to be made.In this study the type of frame
design used is the H-shaped frame, with materials using hollow iron with
dimensions of 40 mm x 40 mm x 1.4 mm. While the desing of frame construction
was made with the help of the 2014 solidwork software which was then carried
out a study analysis by giving an external load of 110 kg obtained from the
average calculation of load variations of 80 kg, 100 kg, 150 kg. The results of the
study analysis carried out can be known the maximum stress from the design
results is 7,825 MPa and the maximum displacement that occurs is 1.08 mm.
While the calculation results from the theoretical analysis obtained a maximum
stress of 8.483 Mpa, and a deflection that occurred was 2.9 mm.
