An Analysis of The Effectiveness of Using English Cambridge Coursebook in Indonesian Senior High School

Abstract
his study investigates the application of using the English Cambridge coursebook. Using a descriptive qualitative research methodology, the study explores three primary questions (1)how do the teachers use the English Cambridge Coursebook in the eleventh grade of MA Minhajut Thola bah (2) what are the problems faced by English Teachers in using English Cambridge course book at eleventh grade of MA Minhajut Thala bah (3) what are the strategies used by English Teacher to solve the problems in using English Cambridge Coursebook at eleventh grade of MA Minhajut Thola bah. Data was collected through content analysis and interviews with English teachers. The main findings show that teachers conclude that Cambridge books do not have effectiveness in improving students' English language skills. Teachers use some strategies to solve the problem (1) teaching slowly and in more detail (2) the teacher used another reference that is easier to understand (3) exploring the technology tool. (4) Optimizing the use of technology to support learning (5) Teachers have increased their knowledge of supplementary books to enrich the teaching of Cambridge books (6) teaching training is organized to improve the quality of teaching, as important factors in language learning. All teachers agree on the importance of improving the ability in English proficiency and the learning process. This research contributes to the understanding of the importance of knowing children's level of English language instruction and highlights the importance of teachers' learning and mastery in shaping their instructional practices. These findings suggest that continuous improvement of teachers' English language competence, school programs that encourage the natural use of English, and consideration of students' match level and English teacher proficiency factors are essential for effective English education.
